Sterek AU: After the untimely death of his father Stiles Stilinski finds himself thrust to the head of one of the largest mob families on the West Coast, all at the tender age of eighteen. When his enforcer, Isaac, brings him Derek Hale he’s not quite sure what to do. He’s still learning the ropes of this mob boss business, but he’s pretty sure it’s not normal to send your son as payment for a debt. Stiles ends up using Derek as a bodyguard which is probably not what you’re meant to do with a rival family’s son, but Stiles is making this shit up as he goes along (plus Derek is kinda nice to have around and very easy on the eyes).
last night one of my campers was like “well i lost one of my shoes in the swamp today” and i said “oh no!” and she shrugged and said “its ok. shoes are just objects” and damn. they really are
today a completely different camper with scratches all over her legs was like “every step hurts me” and i was like “oh that sucks!” and she shrugged and said “well, you know, pain is a temporary emotion”

After Stiles has lost too many people, for which he blames himself, he closes his heart off, determined to remain alone until he meets the one person he can’t keep out. (alone in this crowded room)
