I talk a lot about bottom!Derek because bottom!Derek holds a very special place in my heart, but listen, I’m all for Derek topping. Sterek is a versatile pairing and I will fight anyone who says differently

While bottom!Derek is all about Derek getting nice things and being taken care of, top!Derek is all about Derek giving love and showing his partner (Stiles) that he loves them. Derek isn’t good with words, isn’t really good at saying the Big Three Words, but he’s good at showing Stiles just how much he loves him

He’s good at taking Stiles apart, good at following Stiles’ directions (”Deeper, Derek- fuuuuck, right there”) and he’s good at turning Stiles’ brain to mush, making him incapable of muttering anything but his name and curse words. He’s good at making Stiles a sweaty, beautiful mess, and he loves doing it

He loves grabbing Stiles and pushing him against doors or walls or anything and mouthing at his neck, grinding on him until he feels that familiar bulge pressing against his own. Until he feels Stiles grabbing at him and grinding back, hears him moan loudly in his ear and cursing his name as arousal fills Derek’s nostrils

He loves the sight of Stiles a moaning mess under him as he pounds into him, touches him, makes him feel good, and puts all his attention on him. He loves seeing marks form on Stiles’ pale skin shortly after they’ve both come, often trails the marks with a few of his fingers. Because those marks mean Stiles belongs to him. Those marks tell the rest of the world that, and Stiles proudly shows the ones on his neck off, isn’t ashamed to show off the love he was given

Derek loves when he’s kissing down Stiles’ bare chest and hears the little hitch in his breath. Loves when he’s taking Stiles into his mouth and hears Stiles gasp and moan his name, followed by those long fingers running through his hair, grabbing at his head as he blows him. Derek loves when he flips Stiles over onto his hands and knees and rims him, Stiles a moaning and trembling mess, trembling because he feels so good, can’t even form words anymore

Derek loves fucking Stiles roughly, knows Stiles loves that too, but his favorite is tender and slow boning. Tender and slow with Stiles pressed against him, with Derek leaving butterfly kisses everywhere his mouth can reach, and Stiles’ hands wandering over Derek’s sweaty body, while Derek slowly thrusts into him

He loves having Stiles in his arms, loves looking into those whiskey brown eyes and see nothing but love and brightness looking back at him, can only hope Stiles sees the same in his eyes

Because he does. He does love Stiles. Has never loved anyone as much as he loves Stiles, and he wants to not only tell him that as often as he can manage to, he wants to show it at every chance he gets. Because Stiles is his anchor, the only thing keeping him from drowning in the dark and sadness he got pulled out of when Stiles stumbled into his life
