Artist: anokaba
Media: Digital

Here are some bed sharing for you,

Domestic by frostywonder (54k)
Harry finds a stray and decides to take him home.

The Gentlewizard Club by @sophiefrench77 (28k)

Draco wants what Draco wants. And if he has to snuggle up to Harry to get it, well, surely, Draco can handle that. Problem is, not sure Harry can.

Sharing Different Heartbeats by talithan (17k)
It’s Harry’s first time in New York City, and he is determined to have a good time. How Draco Malfoy figures into this remains to be seen.

A Convenient Impracticality by @firethesound (38k)
Somehow Harry ends up agreeing to a fake relationship with his ex-nemesis-turned-friendly-acquaintance-with-benefits, except for some reason it involves an awful lot of actual dating and, sadly, not much sex. Confused? Harry is too, but when has anything with Draco Malfoy ever been as straightforward as it seems?

The Moon Looks Lovely Tonight by Omi_Ohmy (35k)
When Harry moves into the damp and empty Black house, it doesn’t quite feel like home. And then the first owl moves in. After that, it’s a steep slope leading to bed-sharing, more owls, assorted housemates, strange potions experiments, and terrible cooking. And a bit of waltzing, too.

The Destiny You Sold by tryslora (58k)
In which Draco knits, Harry makes wands, and things get very tangled up between them.

All the Ashes Like Leaves by @firethesound (21k)
Nothing about being the Chosen One had prepared Harry for this. With most of the population blinded and man-eating plants running amok, he can only stay close to his friends as they make their way to safety. Not that he’d call Malfoy a friend, but the end of the world does rather make their ongoing feud seem trivial. And it just figures that it took nothing short of an apocalypse to make Malfoy seem like less of a git.

This is what happens when you destroy one of the eighth-year dorm beds and therefore have one less of them than you should have.

Rule of Three and a Stone by Tale Kayler (11k)

It’s not very often that your suspect binds you to your old school rival.

Sine Qua Non by khasael (35k)

Harry and Draco manage to escape from being trapped in a wine cellar, but their problems don’t end there. Voldemort, somewhat inconsiderately, doesn’t think to pause the war while they work out their feelings for one another, and the Order is not quite as supportive as Harry had hoped. — A remix of dysonrules’s Need

Chasing an Epoch by kiraohara (80k)
When Scorpius goes missing just shy of his tenth birthday, circumstances leave Draco relying on none other than his childhood enemy to find him. With the assistance of Harry’s children, they race against the clock to unravel the mysterious disappearance before it’s too late. But is everything as it seems? Or will they end up not only end up needing to save Scorpius, but needing to find it in themselves to believe that they can save the whole world?

Choices of the Heart by Naadi (82k)

Harry has dreams that pull him into the realm of the newly dead. At first, the dreams are only a curious mystery, but when when Harry dreams of Narcissa Malfoy, his life suddenly goes in a much different direction than the one he’d always imagined.

For Love of a Family by icicle33 (30k)
A series of attacks by a group of neo-Death Eaters causes the Ministry to implement a new set of restrictions on former Death Eaters and their children. When Scorpius falls ill, Draco decides that he will do anything to save his son, even if it means marrying Harry Potter.

in between the silences by grantairette (13k)
Harry and Draco are sent to a safe house immediately after the battle of Hogwarts, where they’re supposed to be spend three weeks together, much to their anger. Television serves as both therapy and a bonding opportunity, coffee and tea get drunk in large quantities, and they try to reconcile themselves with life after the war.

To Be Back Again in the Rest of the Room by lamerezouille (15k)
Harry’s just defeated Voldemort, and has had enough trouble for a lifetime. All he wants to do now is to get into his four-poster bed in Gryffindor Tower and sleep. Too bad he soon finds himself unexpectedly stuck in a malfunctioning Room of Requirement… with Malfoy.

Kiss the Joy (Until the Sun Rise) by ICMezzo (37k)
The Room of Requirement was severely damaged in the war, but not so much that it could not provide for one lost student and another young hero—especially when they needed each other most of all. (LJ Link)

Touchstone by Faith Wood (7k)
Two years after their break up, Harry and Draco meet again under familiar circumstances: Draco is in danger, Harry saves him.

Thank you so much, @mxlfoydraco!!! 🙂

Have you seen it, @tryslora?

Don’t know how I missed this lovely list of fics. Wonderful to be included!

the man who lived

(you can meet this Draco in the amazing fic The Man Who Lived by @e-sebastian, it’s been a while since a story made such an impression on me!!)

[commissions] [ko-fi]

Okay, so, because I’ve been hanging onto this rec forever (because I can never seem to find the right words to convey how much I love it or how important it feels to me), I’m just going to set it up with this fantastic piece of art by @caroll-in :

FIC FUCKING REC!

The Man Who Lived by @e-sebastian is honestly one of my top favorite fics of all time. It’s a drarry fic, and has a lovely build to their relationship (which is…flawed and gorgeous and perfectly written), but more than that, it’s a Draco fic and you just fall in love with him like you never have before, while reading.

The Man Who Lived takes place 12 years after the war, and is set in New York, where Draco works with at-risk teenagers. He’s got a life, a surprisingly content – even happy – one, and has moved on from his youth, has grown up in the best possible ways, and so much of his upbringing is behind him – until he’s cursed into sharing space with Harry in his dreams. Which is a bit of a problem, you know, because they’re on different time schedules (Harry is still in England) and oh, yeah, they don’t like each other. Lol.

Now, I’m not going to go into too much about the plot, because it’s better if you go in not knowing too much, honestly, but I do want to take some time to talk about the tags and potential squicks.

I’ve seen a lot of people say they’ve been avoiding reading this because of one of the tags (which I’ll elaborate upon in my tags, here, so as to not spoil anyone who doesn’t want to know), and because it’s in first person. I know a lot of people prefer third, and that’s fine, I get it. I generally do, too. But this is first person done right. Seriously, I dare you to get halfway through the first chapter and be able to envision it in any other way.

Draco in this story is mature, smart, capable, and kind – in short, he’s everything we in the fandom have always known he could grow up to be. But he’s still Draco: sarcastic and a little uncompromising, impatient and imperfect; he’s rebuilt himself from being broken, and his cracks show through in a way that only serve to increase his beauty. There are flashbacks, too, that explain his redemption arc, and it’s unparalleled, I swear.

It’s also a slow-burn fic, but it’s a slow burn in the way that CaPri is a slow burn. Things are always happening in it, and it keeps you completely engaged, to the point where, whenever there’s a scene with Harry, it’s simply icing on a very tasty cake. I generally have to be in a specific mood for slow-burn fics, but never with this one; I’ve read it more times than I can count and love it just as much on each pass.

Another “problem” I’ve run across from people debating reading it is that it’s filled with OC’s. Yes, it is, but they’re good OC’s. They serve the story in the best way, and are so fleshed out you’ll start to feel about them the way you do about the side characters in HP – like they’ve always been there.

And finally, some of the themes in the author’s notes: the story does have some heavy themes, but I beg you to not let them deter you unless something is an actual trigger. Everything is so respectfully crafted here, not a single step feels out of place or like a mere plot point just to get from a to c. They’re deftly written and handled with the care they’re due, and the story is all the better for it.

And I know 250k might be daunting, but… Here, it’s not. Not at all. I actually stayed up all night reading it the first time because I was obsessed, but it’s one you can take your time with, and probably should, because you get more and more from it when you let it sit in your heart for awhile.

Run – no, become The Flash – to read this fic. It’s one of my ultimate favorites, and I promise you won’t be disappointed.
