also know that I’m basically a fanfiction library walking on two legs, and I
have for a long time promised to do a reclist for people in need of reading.
In honor of fanfiction author day, here have a Sterek one. Please note that not every fic I
love are on this, as I have more than a thousand favorite on my computer (yeah,
problem, I have them), so here have some of them!
Also, I would love if you took the time to leave
reviews, even short, to the fics you will read. I do this reclist because all these people have made
my day and will make yours brighter, for free, and they deserve all the love 😀

Summary: “Do they really, really, really have mermaids?” Katie
gushes, clutching at her dad’s hair from her place on his shoulders and
tugging with excitement.“Merfolk,” Derek corrects distractedly, reading over the little brochure they gave them at the entrance. Don’t feed the wildlife. Don’t tap on the glass. Don’t throw anything in the water. Don’t engage with the merfolk, only do so when a member of the staff is present as to not incite conflict with our guests.Derek wonders what it’ll be like, seeing merfolk for the first time.
They’re such an interesting culture with so little of its history
discovered.He wonders-
Summary:
Derek doesn’t want to call the window repair guy. He
doesn’t want to sweep up the glass. He’ll inevitably miss a few shards
and pull them out of the bottom of his bare feet for weeks.
He doesn’t want to try to make this place feel like home when it isn’t.
Derek
stayed in Beacon Hills and tried to make it work because he wanted
pack, wanted purpose. He gave his best effort and found himself back
where he started: alone, with a few begrudging allies. He’s tired, and
even though his werewolf body heals quickly, he feels the weary ache
down to his center.
He packs his car with the few things he cares
about enough to drag them from place to place. He locks the loft and
calls a realtor about listing the building he’d bought in a misguided
attempt to secure a future.
Summary: In which Derek has been invited to the Greater Pacific Northwest Alpha Symposium (that’s not what it’s called,
Stiles, stop saying that), and showing up unattached would mean an
arranged marriage. When the rest of the pack objects, he agrees to let
Stiles come along to pose as his mate. Derek is reasonably sure that
he’s not going to make it out of this weekend alive.
Summary: Stiles and Parrish are friends. And then Derek and Parrish are friends, and Derek is buying furniture from IKEA and calling the Sheriff John, and that’s even more confusing.
Summary: Derek quietly loves Christmas and is not afraid to wear the sweaters to
show it. He hosts a children’s TV show about science and history, builds
model trains, and is painfully awkward. Stiles works in a Hallmark-type
store that sells Christmas decorations and model train pieces, and
might have an unhealthy appreciation for sweaters. Of course he was
going to fall for Derek. Of course he was.
Summary: Derek thinks that the mating rituals are overly romanticized bullshit,
but claiming a mate and defending them from challengers is something
werewolves do, and his pack can’t afford to appear weak after the fire.
Especially not when Deucalion and his friends are in town for the
rituals. Enter Stiles Stilinski, who offers to let Derek claim him so he
won’t be overrun at the ceremonies. Nothing goes as expected.
Summary: AU – Werewolves are an enslaved underclass, collared and tagged by human
masters. Detective Stilinski’s on duty the night they bring in an
untagged stray.
Summary: “Have you heard of this Alpha?” Stiles asks, shuffling
up his pallet so Scott has room to sit.
Scott does with a grateful
little twist of his mouth. Stefan forces him into the Stilinski
ceremonial armor when they travel and Stiles can see that it’s heavy and
doesn’t sit well on Scott. He can’t shift encased in metal and Stefan
knows it.
“I know of him, mostly stories that seem a little
fantastical. Shifters exaggerate just like common people. They like
their war stories.”“Tell me of him. Tell me a war story.”
Summary: “What? It’s totally an improvement. He’s not
scowling, or dating bad guys, or slinking around in unsanitary places.
Still a bit paranoid, but what can you do. At least he’s a lot easier
to get along with when you can buy his affections with ear rubs.”
“And you always wanted a dog,” Sheriff added wryly.
Summary: The rules. Stiles knows them well. Has them drilled
into his head, repeats them to alphas and betas that conveniently are
too drunk to remember them on their own, hears Peter shout them out
whenever a rule gets broken, reminding the entire bar that they exist
and are (generally) enforced.
Number one – no eye contact. Number two – no fucking eye contact. Number three – keep away from the red line. Number four – no touching. Number five – if we don’t like it, don’t do it.
Summary: “I really -” Stiles rips his hand free of Derek’s and
clears his throat, taking stock of all the other things that were in his
basket, how strewn all over the floor of the grocery store they are.
“…I’m a normal, functioning human being, I swear I am.”
“Right,”
Derek says, and his mouth starts quirking up even more. Like he’s
amused, and like he absolutely positively does not believe for a second
that Stiles is normal.

I’ve just started working through the Sterek Summer Spectacle 2016 fics, so there’s a few of them this week. I anticipate many more in the next fic rec 🙂 Have a great weekend everyone!
Derek isn’t an uptight person – seriously, for an alpha, he’s downright laid-back – but something about Stilinski makes him want to bare his teeth and grasp him by the scruff and bite.
No, not bite. That would be incredibly inappropriate, of course – and Derek plus the legal department are aware of that. Anyway, the point is, Stilinski needs to be kept in line.
Or, wherein Derek’s office rival might be the same person keeping him sane at night when the loneliness hits.
Instead of ‘when superheroes need help, they call us,’ Stiles thinks their slogan should be ‘when the superheroes inevitably screw up, we save the day.’ Because that’s what superheroes do, screw up, inevitably.
Regular old folk think it’s the villains that go around declaring world domination and destroying cities, but it isn’t. Stiles has worked for Damage Control going on six years, and if he’s learned one thing during those long days, and even longer nights of shoveling debris, and chopping trees split down the middle from lightning bolts, courtesy of thunder gods, it’s that the heroes do the most damage.
Or the one where Stiles and his crew are sent across the country to repair Derek’s bistro, and end up catching a saboteur.
Everyone’s apathetic. Except Derek. Derek cares so much.

Boyd is a pragmatic posthumous reappropriater, Erica spends her free time impersonating Meursault and playing Fruit Ninja, Isaac would like everyone to settle down already, Stiles is bi, Scott’s actually holding it together pretty well for a week-old Alpha with a two pack problem, Jackson’s a lizard, Lydia accessorizes, Allison’s playing on a rival (semi-murderous) team and Derek just keeps showing up.
After Stiles spills his coffee all over coffee-machine-cutie Derek, they meet for nightly coffee breaks while their kids undergo treatment in the cancer ward. The relationship they weren’t looking for deepens into a source of strength and hope.
When Derek passes the ‘Welcome to Beacon Hills’ sign the weight that had lifted three years ago resettles on his shoulders as if it was never gone.
Scott had asked him to come back, promising that things were different now. He spoke in a rushed out breath about how much safer the town was compared to when he left. And when Derek asked why, if that was the case, the town needed him at all, Scott had replied with, “Because there are still people here that I care about, and if I can’t protect them then I want to know that someone I trust will be here to.”
Not always, not even most of the time, but sometimes – 24% of the time, statistically speaking – people meet their soulmates and live happily ever after.
THIS isn’t that story.
This is the story of Stiles Stilinski, whose soulmate died before he was born. This is the story of all the sorrows and heartache Stiles experienced, all the bullying and oppression from those who should know better but didn’t. This is also the story of the friendships Stiles made along the way, of the battles he fought – and won – and the love that endured through it all.
Stiles moves back to Beacon Hills with his young daughter Eva to look for a new start. He finds all that and more in Eva’s new daycare teacher, Derek, who in turn discovers the family he didn’t know he was looking for.
Derek is a junior in college, never could get the hang of social interaction, and is, you know, a werewolf. A werewolf and a virgin. And it isn’t like anyone is banging down his door to hop on his werewolf dick, save for the few pervs who acted like he was some kind of exotic toy to be played with and experienced. So, when he sees Stiles’ ad on Hot Men 4 Rent, Derek is… interested.
And who is he kidding, he’s read that bio every day since that sad evening with the chocolate chip cookies, and has every facet of it memorized.
Stiles, no last name. Eighteen. Student. Good conversationalist. Likes to crack jokes. Fan of junk food but enjoys running. Werewolf-friendly. Werewolf-friendly.
And there is his phone number and an email address. Plus all the moles.
When Stiles Stilinksi steps foot onto Court 8 at Roland Garros, it’s everything he’s been dreaming of for the last nine years, and everything his life has been building towards since the first time he held a tennis racquet in his hands fourteen years ago.
It’s kinda funny, Stiles thinks, that his first game in a Grand Slam (that’s right, he’s playing in a freaking Grand Slam) is against a fellow American. Hell, he’s a fellow Californian. Derek Hale is slightly taller than him, his face is stubbled and just as grumpy in real life as he’s seen in numerous photos and video coverage. And yeah, in any other circumstance Stiles might admit that the stubble and general sense of ‘stay the hell away from me’ totally works for him. But right now it’s just intimidating as fuck.
It was a strange feeling, knowing he was going to die.
Stiles couldn’t really wrap his head around the idea that he might not even live to see eighteen.
When Stiles discovers that he has stage IV metastatic melanoma, he knows the prognosis is grim. After the start of the best summer of his teen years now that Beacon Hills is peaceful and he and his friends are free from fear, the decision to have a short while longer to live healthy rather than suffer through treatments that would only prolong his life a short while is an easy one. His decision not to tell his father until the end is near is also an easy one. When Derek finds out Stiles is dying and offers to help Stiles enjoy what time he has left, Stiles makes another easy decision to take Derek up on his offer and together they set out on a road trip for one last adventure.
Even if the adventure they share isn’t the one they planned for.
The person doesn’t respond, instead they move closer at an eerie and unhurried pace, as if there aren’t buckets of water falling to the ground right now. But the rain is probably the least of their concerns because it just bubbles around them, never seeming to actually make contact. It isn’t until they get closer that Stiles realizes he knows the person.
It’s… him. Stiles is looking directly at a mirror of himself.
His chest clenches. They’re only about ten feet away from each other now. Stiles stares at uh – Stiles B – and frantically covers as many of his bases as he can. Did he touch something at Deaton’s? No, and even if he did he’d only been working on a binding spell today, nothing nearly as serious as a duplication spell or call for a golem. Is he awake? Yeah. Well. Wait.
After the events with Deucalion and Jennifer Blake, Derek goes on a search for his biological family. He, Stiles, and Cora head to New York City to try to find the family he doesn’t remember. It turns out that there was a lot to his adoption that he never knew.

Derek doesn’t admit that everything about Stiles doesn’t just makes him weak in the knees, but melts all of his bones, and makes his heart lurch, and his head spin; doesn’t admit that Stiles makes him feel a lot of things he was sure he’d not feel again for a long, long time.
So this has the whole pack alive and happy (because they are all alive and happy okay?) and on a holiday together – with the necessary bed sharing with a fun twist – rock, paper, scissors anyone? You have sunshine, the most glorious snark and banter, pack bonds and friendship that will warm your soul and a fantastic Derek POV. Sweet, sweet, sweet.
Derek get’s hit with some wolfsbane which makes him afraid of stuff. Stiles tries to help out as best he can…
Alpha!Derek? Check. Freaky Wolfsbane poisoning? Check. Enforced Stiles and Derek sleepover time? Check. Combine this with perfectly done Stiles POV, classic baddie of the week, and Stiles and Derek with their idiotic version of misunderstandings and you have this lovely little fic.
He’s sure that some complicated law of physics is in danger of being broken here. Something about two things being incapable of occupying the same space at the same time.
Oooh this is a lovely little fic – perfectly encapsulating Derek in his unreconstructed man-angst state, and Stiles in his young but brutally upfront (with himself as well as with others) personality. Cold weather = enforced body heat sharing. Body heat sharing guys! *excited giggle*
Stiles is almost used to being chased around the school by werewolves at this point. Having to share a bed with Derek freaking Hale, on the other hand, is just needlessly complicating his life.
“Stiles catches the jacket with his face. That wouldn’t be so bad really, only it’s leather and is heavy enough to be made of the whole cow.” Okay so that’s the opening two lines of this fic and it if that’s not enough to get you reading it then I don’t know what to do with you. This fic makes me laugh, makes me squirm with the awkwardness, makes me tense with anticipation, and makes me blush with just fluffy happiness. This is a fic with it all – go read and enjoy!
He’s here alright. They’re both here. In this bed. After everything has gone to shit yet again.
This is a beautiful bit of hurt/comfort with a perfectly hopeful ending. This is the sort of night I can imagine happening if canon had been written better. It’s short, and aching, but lovely.
There are two kings, a queen pullout, plus two twins downstairs, which should fit eight people comfortably enough, but somehow –
Stiles wakes up with a faceful of Derek’s hair and strong arms around his torso, crammed into one of the twins, seriously hungover and feeling like he would very much like to never venture forth from the safety of the warm duvet –
Alrighty then – we have happy and ALIVE pack, spring break, drinking games, and multiple sharing of beds. Seriously. Stiles is like Goldilocks here going from bed to bed. This is summery, fun, and totally sweet. The interactions between the whole pack are just perfect and Derek is just…*sighs*…content and relaxed and thats my happy place?
It may be the wrong fairytale to fit their odd world, but Derek was most definitely Goldilocks, and somehow, Stiles’ bed was juuuuuust right.
Speaking of Goldilocks! This is fantastic, laugh out loud and full of the funniest character interactions. Bed sharing galore right here – everybody has a go! Featuring the funniest Stiles/Derek argument I think I’ve ever read (you’ll know it when you see it) and a sideline of sweet tenderness. And Stiles’ quite frankly fantastic internal monologue.
“This is my wolf,” Scott says flatly, pointing at the animal.
I LIVE for these fics where the werewolves’ wolves become corporeal. It is just as awkward as it should be and I love the way the author has described the different wolves and their relationships with their human counterparts. Derek is perfectly written and so is Stiles, the way they interact is so rude and insulting and just so them okay? Lovely.
Derek is trapped in the Hale house when it’s set on fire for the second time. This is the story of how everything falls apart and is inevitably put back together again.
Okay so this sounds like its going to be super angsty, and honestly it does have its fair share. But its oddly healthy angst and its just heartachingly happy making to see Derek being taken care of. It satisfies me deeply. The Derek/Stiles interactions are really well written, and so are the Scott/Stiles interactions – I love it when Scott is a good friend and a good pack mate and a good person. I could have happily continued reading 100k of this but frankly it’s perfectly formed, and neatly captures all of the potential of Stiles and Derek becoming StilesandDerek. Melancholy but totally hopeful.
Stiles and Derek are sent to San Francisco to meet with a couple of people to get information on the latest supernatural threat in Beacon Hills. Along the way, there is pining, demon karaoke, a dash of jealousy, an old motel, and the movement from friends to lovers that they’ve both wanted for a long time.
Okay so I finally get to rec my babe Inell. I had the pleasure of pre-reading this fic for her and was in bed with it in my emails and literally grinning from ear to ear. Stiles and Derek and forced bed sharing and THE most fabulous cameo I’ve yet to see in a sterek fic. I love the way that Braedon is referenced and respected and loved in this fic. And Stiles and Derek are so perfectly characterised in this. And when they get to the motel? Unf.
Derek waited, his eyes squeezed closed, breath trapped in his lungs. He felt the brush of long, cool fingers along the side of his neck and then… nothing.
It happened on a Thursday. Derek was walking down the cereal aisle of the grocery store when he absentmindedly grabbed a box of Cheerios and a box of Lucky Charms.
I need someone like Kira heading the class and she convinced Stiles to come because she’s a little nervous speaking in front of a group and Scott volunteered his only friend with a kid to be there as moral support and Stiles’ kid adores her anyway.
And the one that nearly no one who knows him believes, because he is a teenage boy, because he is a teenage Stiles; the he totally thinks babies are the most adorable, and he that wants to squish all their little faces til they let out that little baby giggle.
The first time it happens, he’s standing in the bathroom, toweling himself off. He turned sixteen a few days ago and his stomach still spikes with anxiety every time he thinks about it; maybe it’ll happen today.
“Scott. Scott! SCOTT!” Stiles was knocking on his best friend’s door frantically, voice getting louder and more agitated as the seconds ran by until a very confused and sleepy looking Scott finally opened.
Berkeley isn’t that far from Beacon Hills, but it feels so much farther when his Jeep is no longer fit to drive long distances and he has to find a different way to get to and from school.
There’s a dude just sitting on the floor, petting the giant dog that had just walked in. The majority of the crowd of party-goers had made a wide path for the dog to pass through, as that thing was monstrously sized, though skinny with short fur, and admittedly a tad scary looking.
Derek could hear as the Jeep’s harsh rattle died away and Stiles hopped out onto the gravel drive. He gnawed on his lip as he debated whether he would actually go through with his plan.
Stiles, who is temporarily a donkey (it wasn’t his fault, honest, fairy aunts are so sensitive, seriously), decides not to let that stand in his way in his quest to save the lovely Lydia from the clutches of the nasty dragon!
“This has to stop,” Stiles says, looking down at his blood soaked feet in disgust and then back up at Derek who is stubbornly trying to drag a deer into his house, even though it’s clear that the thing can’t fit through Stiles’ back door.
Derek was heading up to his front door when he heard meowing. He was almost certain it was coming from inside his house, which was odd because he and Stiles didn’t own a cat.
Stiles is shaking. Not just a little bit of shivering, no, a full-body shake that ebbs and flows with every breath, but he assures Derek repeatedly that it’s okay, he wants this. Derek’s senses can’t catch a lie, and Stiles certainly gives every indication of wanting to proceed.
Derek didn’t protest when she stormed out of the station. Hell he deserved for her to leave too…he didn’t deserve to have her. What he’s done is unforgivable. He’s the reason Peter is comatose in the hospital. He’s the reason his ten other family members are six feet under in one empty casket because there wasn’t enough remains to bury them properly.
There’s a guy in Stiles’ class that’s driving him insane.Stiles only has one class with him and there’s no way that Stiles should be as infatuated with him as he is, but god, he is.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” It’s hot as Satan’s balls, barely eleven o’clock, and Derek is fucking done. “Officer Calves, paging Officer Calves, come-in, please,” she says, annoying and nasal and hidden behind her hand.
Derek doesn’t even have to look up to know it’s Stiles who’s leaning against his counter, one hip pressed into the formica while he lifts one of the packages of chocolate-covered coffee beans, ostensibly to study it, but really just to focus his attention on something else while he announces, “Your hand looks heavy. You should let me hold it.”
Stiles comes to coughing up some water and turning over on a rigid, porous rock. He looks out at the shore blearily and sees the Jeep, but no sign of Scott.
Stiles lets himself into Derek’s apartment, calling out a hello as he dumps Derek’s mail on the side. It’s not an unusual habit, Stiles spotting Derek’s scant bills and correspondence in his mailbox and grabbing it for him on the way up.
“You can’t possibly be blaming me for this.” Derek aims a dry look Stiles’ way. It’s an effort with Stiles plastered grudgingly to his chest like this, their arms wrapped around each other while Stiles’ body slowly stops quaking.
The road trip to New York was Stiles’s idea. Derek was only in Beacon Hills to visit the pack for a week or so in June for their graduation but ended up extending the trip at everyone’s insistence.
Stiles is not stuck. To random passers-by it could appear that he is stuck, but he’s completely capable of getting down off this motherfucking tree all by himself.
Derek likes sticking to his routines: they give his days structure and keep his goals on track. His carefully maintained habits have never been more important than at college, and by his second year, he’s gotten everything exactly the way he wants it.
For a frightening moment, Stiles has no idea what happened. All he knows is that the last hellhound the pack is fighting just tackled him, that his bat flew out of his hands, and that his shoulder just made a terrifying sound as he hit the ground.
Stiles was just trying to have a little me time in his favourite secret outfit with his favourite toy, why does Derek always have to burst in unannounced and more importantly was his sex life about to get a little more interesting?
Coming back to the moment, the guy says, “So, you got a plan for all your canning? A big family, or lots of friends and co-workers?” “Not really,” Derek says wryly. “It’s a … new hobby, I guess, and I got a little carried away.” A little, he thinks, that’s a laugh. Hugely carried away, is more like it. “I have way, way more than I know what to do with.”
I’m always a sucker for single
dad!Sterek. Plus I think Stiles’s characterization is absolutely wonderful. I
love the plot and the original characters add so much to the story.
it literally has nearly all my favorite tropes, from the sheriff finds out, to hurt stiles, to love declarations, its the sheriffs pov, its super intense angst but it still has a happy ending/no mcd. Its only downfall is that it isnt longer!
It’s basically impossible to choose only one all time favorite Sterek fic but Etharei’s ‘A Wildness Warily Awakened’ is something that has stayed with me ever since I first read it years ago. It has an original plot, an interesting but plausible twist to the whole werewolf/zombie mythology, there’s amazing chemistry and UST between Stiles and Derek, resolving into steamy and passionate sex scenes, it features my dream team which is TW season 2 characters and it happens in space. It reads like original fiction. What more could you hope for? 🙂

Don’t throw anything in the water. Don’t engage with the merfolk, only do so when a member of the staff is present as to not incite conflict with our guests.Derek wonders what it’ll be like, seeing merfolk for the first time.
They’re such an interesting culture with so little of its history

Summary:
Derek doesn’t want to call the window repair guy. He
doesn’t want to sweep up the glass. He’ll inevitably miss a few shards
and pull them out of the bottom of his bare feet for weeks.
He doesn’t want to try to make this place feel like home when it isn’t.
Derek
stayed in Beacon Hills and tried to make it work because he wanted
pack, wanted purpose. He gave his best effort and found himself back
where he started: alone, with a few begrudging allies. He’s tired, and
even though his werewolf body heals quickly, he feels the weary ache
down to his center.
He packs his car with the few things he cares
about enough to drag them from place to place. He locks the loft and
calls a realtor about listing the building he’d bought in a misguided
attempt to secure a future.
Summary: In which Derek has been invited to the Greater Pacific Northwest Alpha Symposium (that’s not what it’s called,
Stiles, stop saying that), and showing up unattached would mean an
arranged marriage. When the rest of the pack objects, he agrees to let
Stiles come along to pose as his mate. Derek is reasonably sure that
he’s not going to make it out of this weekend alive.
Summary: Stiles and Parrish are friends. And then Derek and Parrish are friends, and Derek is buying furniture from IKEA and calling the Sheriff John, and that’s even more confusing.
Summary: Derek quietly loves Christmas and is not afraid to wear the sweaters to
show it. He hosts a children’s TV show about science and history, builds
model trains, and is painfully awkward. Stiles works in a Hallmark-type
store that sells Christmas decorations and model train pieces, and
might have an unhealthy appreciation for sweaters. Of course he was
going to fall for Derek. Of course he was.
Summary: Derek thinks that the mating rituals are overly romanticized bullshit,
but claiming a mate and defending them from challengers is something
werewolves do, and his pack can’t afford to appear weak after the fire.
Especially not when Deucalion and his friends are in town for the
rituals. Enter Stiles Stilinski, who offers to let Derek claim him so he
won’t be overrun at the ceremonies. Nothing goes as expected.
Summary: AU – Werewolves are an enslaved underclass, collared and tagged by human
masters. Detective Stilinski’s on duty the night they bring in an
untagged stray.
Summary: “Have you heard of this Alpha?” Stiles asks, shuffling
up his pallet so Scott has room to sit.
Scott does with a grateful
little twist of his mouth. Stefan forces him into the Stilinski
ceremonial armor when they travel and Stiles can see that it’s heavy and
doesn’t sit well on Scott. He can’t shift encased in metal and Stefan
knows it.
“I know of him, mostly stories that seem a little
fantastical. Shifters exaggerate just like common people. They like
their war stories.”“Tell me of him. Tell me a war story.”
Summary: “What? It’s totally an improvement. He’s not
scowling, or dating bad guys, or slinking around in unsanitary places.
Still a bit paranoid, but what can you do. At least he’s a lot easier
to get along with when you can buy his affections with ear rubs.”
“And you always wanted a dog,” Sheriff added wryly.
Summary: The rules. Stiles knows them well. Has them drilled
into his head, repeats them to alphas and betas that conveniently are
too drunk to remember them on their own, hears Peter shout them out
whenever a rule gets broken, reminding the entire bar that they exist
and are (generally) enforced.
Number one – no eye contact. Number two – no fucking eye contact. Number three – keep away from the red line. Number four – no touching. Number five – if we don’t like it, don’t do it.
Summary: “I really -” Stiles rips his hand free of Derek’s and
clears his throat, taking stock of all the other things that were in his
basket, how strewn all over the floor of the grocery store they are.
“…I’m a normal, functioning human being, I swear I am.”
“Right,”
Derek says, and his mouth starts quirking up even more. Like he’s
amused, and like he absolutely positively does not believe for a second
that Stiles is normal.

To celebrate Fanfiction Writers Appreciation Day, I have decided to, for once, create a rec list of a ton of my favorite sterek fanfictions. These are not all of them of course. I have over 900 bookmarks, okay, and you can find all of those here. But these are ones that have stuck out to me, been read tons of times, and that I truly love. Stiles spends a year before college working at the all-night coffee shop in town. It’s nice and quiet, until one dark and brooding Derek starts coming in every morning, ordering coffee so strong that it should not be fit for human consumption. Ever. Stiles tries not to be affected by the mystery guy, but it’s not like anything else happens around here, so really, what did you expect? And when he’s already in too deep, he realises he might even be in way over his head…
He’s worked at the movie theater for just over a year now and it’s probably the best job he’s ever had, although that’s not entirely a fair comparison when the only other jobs he’s ever had involved raking leaves for Mrs. Huckabee next door and doing some filing for his dad at the station.
He’s also had a crush on Derek for just over a year, ever since his first day at the theater when their overbearing and probably certifiably insane general manager, Bobby Finstock, had declared he didn’t have time to do Stiles’ induction and had palmed him off on Derek instead because he happened to be walking past the office.

Working at the movie theater alongside his crush is all getting a little too much for Stiles. It’s just as well Scott, and his terrible matchmaking plans, are on hand to help out.
“Guys,” Kira eventually says. “Don’t all look at once, but your six o’clock, okay. He’s either the most committed stripper in the world or, Stiles, that new deputy you said your dad mentioned finally arrived and looks like he’s probably a model in his spare time.”
In which there’s a new deputy in town, Stiles and Derek are in a long distance relationship, and–wait a second, that voice sounds awfully familiar.
Things – as things often do in Stiles’ life – get a little crazy (a lot crazy) when, a couple of weeks before his seventeenth birthday, he wakes up to – not a wolf, but an amount of naked flesh, cuddled up to him where Dude fell asleep the night before. Stiles screams, a bit, flopping around and falling out of his bed, getting to his knees to see a naked – Derek Hale, sitting up on his bed, eyes wide. He seems to realize something a second later, because he glances down at himself and squeaks, pulling sheets up around him just as Stiles’ dad opens the door.
The man locked eyes with Derek and grinned, and wow. Derek had to refrain from sprouting daisies all over the fucking counter. “Hey,” he greeted, his voice rough with youth and cockiness. He leaned against the door and gave Derek a once-over. “I heard this place has flowers.”
I just… okay, there was a ridiculous bodice ripper cover with “SCOTTISH WOLF LORD” and I went from there. THE PREMISE IS CRACKY BUT THE STORY IS NOT. *crosses heart*
The Hales are alive and a royal family in Scotland; Stiles is the waif sent to work in the kitchens, elevated to personal attendant/servant to the young Lord Hale. Who happens to be a wolf who can’t shift back. (Not without finding… *spoiler*)

Stiles and Derek have been dating for four months, when Derek gets in an accident and loses all his memories from the past year and a half. Now, he’s once again the Derek Stiles used to despise, and even worse, Derek thinks that he still hates Stiles’ guts.
“There is a world where whenever someone fantasizes about you, you can physically feel it, but you have no idea who is thinking it about you.”
Stiles knows it’s wrong, but he’s been Fantasizing about Derek and he can’t bring himself to stop. Derek doesn’t know who’s taken an interest in him, but he’s enjoying it way more than he probably should.
I started reading one of KuriKuri’s fics, and I went into the rest, and am so excited. I had read a bunch of them before I started making sure to kudo and keep track of authors, but never knew they were the same author. KuriKuri is now in my top five (with EricaisMeg/FoxErica, standinginanicedress, discontentedwinter and crossroadswrite).
Ones I’ve read before and reread because they were awesome:

– Bite Down Hard (Secret Service Derek/First Son Stiles + Soulmates/Accidental Bonding/Fake Relationships)

– Midnight Wolf vs Abominable Snowman! (Comic book artists Stiles and Derek who don’t know who the other is. This is one I know I have recced before separately.)
And my absolute favorite, which is actually two fics (companion pieces): Hemingway Can Suck It and Misinterpret Me Like Lolita, where Stiles is a Biology Professor and Derek is an English Professor but Derek is new and mistakes Stiles for a student.
