Imagine an AU where Stiles is a florist and Derek is a tattoo artist who runs the shop across the street from the florist. Derek has a huge crush on Stiles and admires him from afar. Laura keeps encouraging him to go over and talk to him, so he does, but he panics and ends up ordering enough flowers to fill half of his shop. He runs away, embarrassed.
The next day, Stiles shows up at the shop and asks whether Derek seriously wanted the flowers. Laura explains that her brother can get quite flustered and was probably overwhelmed he was talking to someone as sweet as Stiles. Stiles thanks her and Laura says they’ll take a couple of bouquets to brighten up the shop. Stiles thanks her again and brings around couple of colourful arrangements and bouquets of peonies.
When they begin to wilt, Laura sends Derek next door to order more. He’s very shy and Stiles feels sorry for him, so he asks Derek out.
Years later, when they’re married, Stiles notices a tattoo on the inside of Derek’s arm – usually covered by his sleeve. A tattoo of a peonie. Stiles asks why he got that tattoo (becasue he loves the stories behind all of Derek’s tattoos) and Derek says it was the first flower he ordered from Stiles’ shop; the first time he ever talked to Stiles.
