Coming home from college, the last thing Stiles expected was to be stopped by a hot muscled stranger wearing a BHPD uniform, and he was totally ready to blast the guy in the face if he turned out to be yet another kidnapper looking to get his hands on a young active Spark.

Except Deputy Hale is real, and sweet, and did he mention hot like burning?

What Happened to Stiles’ Magic?

Something that always bothered me was the big deal made in Episode 2×08 “Raving” about Stiles being able to complete the mountain ash ring and then he never even touched the stuff again.  He talked about it in his threat to Ethan and he was knowledgeable whenever they encountered it, but he never used it again in the show so far.

I don’t understand the narrative choice for him not to use it, especially when it was such a large plot point for him and it is not like mountain ash disappeared.   Deaton used it, Jennifer used it, Morrell used it, hell even Melissa used it, and the chimera were immune to it, but Stiles, in the thick of things,  never picked it up again.

If mountain ash is something any human can use, then why wouldn’t he use it?   He was in the thick of things.   If only certain people can employ it, why wouldn’t that be mentioned?

Were they trying to make a point that Stiles was rejecting the supernatural?   Were they trying to make a point that he did not have faith in himself?  Were they limiting his facility with it to maintain his position as an insert character (But that was pretty much scuttled by 3B)?  None of the possibilities I contemplate are satisfying.

Emissaries generally seem to regard him with dislikeHe finds the nemeton by himselfAppears to be equally strong or stronger than the supernatural people around him at points (I’m not the only one with werewolf strength, in 5B Stiles effortlessly lifts the locker while Scott struggles, stops Malia from tearing down the wall in S4, pins both Noah and Theo easily)Might’ve killed the Chemist rather than Rafael McCallHales seem particularly connected to himPeter offered him the bite rather than forcing it upon himHe has used it, but it’s never been addressed, and he stops it by 3b because he’s terrified

on reddit there is a list of things stiles has done that were “odd”

Stiles extends the Mountain Ash outside the rave

Stiles breaks the mountain ash without touching it, in contrast all of the other characters who do it by hand

Stiles holds Derek up in the pool for two hours (treading water for two hours is a superhuman feat in it’s own right]

Stiles’ intuition is always right, if he dislikes a character they are always villains

When the crows invade Miss Blake’s classroom Miss Blake stares at Stiles, and she jerks from his touch

When Stiles dreams of the nemeton it reaches out and grabs him

The Nogitsune is capable of travelling the telluric currents when it possesses him, it can not when it possessed Rhys in the flashback.

Stiles seems to heal faster than he should

when possessed he throws Derek across the room

Doors mysteriously lock and unlock around him

Peter makes a strange comment around him about not being the only one with werewolf strength

He gets connection underground in the middle of nowhere in mexico, which again baffles peter

he goes with Lydia to see Valack

when Malia goes to trash the Benefactor machine Stiles holds her back

When trapped in a room with tracy at the vet he looks at the mountain ash and it breaks – later he tries to see if it was the chimera that did it and theo steps over the line like it’s not there

when liam falls down the hole it’s after stiles walks straight over it like it’s not there

In 5a when Josh is attacking him on the hospital roof, claws and all, he doesn’t have a single scratch nor tear in his clothing

In 5b, he wakes up from a dead sleep (alone) and goes down from his father’s hospital room directly to the morgue where his father happens to be

Survived injection from one of the most lethal substances known to man – even after it was spelled to make it stronger

survived TWO crashes of the jeep, including it being on fire – with nothing more than minor injuries

Stiles looks into Valack’s eye and is not affected

I’m pretty sure he’s repressing it because he’s scared

Stunning artwork by Geeky Sova for my Sterek fic, “(There’s) Sulphur in Our Blood”.

(There’s) Sulphur in Our Blood by WonderWolf features: magic/tattooed BAMF Stiles, reluctant secret agent partners, mysteries, angst+humor, and more!

Actual Summary on AO3:

[Secret Agent AU in which Derek blames Stiles for his sister’s death and Stiles is pretty sure Derek’s going to murder him. As if that weren’t enough to deal with, Stiles’ familiar keeps having public breakdowns. Oh, and there’s a mole in the agency, too.]

Geeky-Sova took my breath away with this commission ❤ If you like it as much as I do, reblog and leave compliments for Sova in the tags! Commission info can be found here.

So I’m looking for a fic where stiles has magic and Scott is missing so his dad the king sends a pack (Derek and his pack) but the thing is mages are hated. Stiles saves Erica and its untimely killing him self but he doesn’t say anything and there was this scene where stiles made a magic golden bird and he was really happy. Help?

They burst through the portal in a gust of stale air and violet light, landing hard on the outskirts of a swamp. Stiles feels his knees buckle, both from the magic required to keep the portal open and from the force of their landing, but he grits his teeth, determined to stay standing in the presence of Derek Hale and his pack. Christ, it would be just his luck to rocket through his own portal at neck-breaking speeds and collide face-first with a puddle of sticky, disgusting mud.

Thankfully that doesn’t happen, which is good because Stiles can’t really afford to add useless to the list of things that Mage’s are; untrustworthy cowards, meddlers, monsters.

(In which there’s an awful lot of fighting, people learn to trust people, and Stiles saves the day. Repeatedly. Over and over again. And he would like some credit, goddamnit, Derek.)

hi! im looking for a quite recent one-shot (probably posted at the end of april) but i don’t remember much. i think derek and stiles were the same age, and derek has a very big family (alive hales + ocs) and also the biggest crush on stiles, but he’s scared of telling stiles so bc werewolf and all. stiles is magic but i think derek doesn’t know at first. peter has a wife who’s magic too and near the end she gives love advice to derek. also atsome point stiles has dinner with all the hales! thx x

All Stiles wants from life is to learn to control his magic, keep his grades up, and not die horribly while saving Beacon Hills from supernatural threats. It’s all going pretty well until Derek Hale, werewolf extraordinaire, has to go and ask him on a date. That asshole.

The One with the Cat by ravingrevolution

“You know this would be easier if I could figure out what the hell I even am,” Stiles retorted before he could stop himself.

“We can discuss that, if you’d like,” Deaton said, as glacially calm as he always was.

Stiles sighed, hearing the instruction behind the blandness.

“A druid is a defender,” he recited, “a warlock’s adept at warring, a magician mimics, a wizard hordes wisdom, a mage is a maker, a sorcerer summons, a spark-”

Or, Stiles is a magical -something he’s still trying to figure out- but it’s hard to be a druid’s apprentice, act normal despite his epic crush on Derek Hale, and not let his tenuous control of his abilities out him at every turn.

Which is about when a magical cat suddenly decides he’s Stiles’ familiar. Because of course that’s what he needs in his life.

At the request of halffizzbin, my own rendition of raisesomehale‘s post:

“Fic where, in a fit of post-break-up, drunken depression, stiles throws together a truly pathetic love spell (really, Lydia would be so unimpressed she’d probably disband their weekly magic lessons) in an attempt to find the perfect partner.

But, like everything else in Stiles’ life (and as proof to how much joy the universe gets pulling one over on him) everything goes horribly wrong and instead of the feathery light, rose petal path he’d been expecting to appear and lead him to his true love, a half naked man with harlequin biceps and a beard that could rival most lumber jacks appears in his minimalist studio apartment looking grumpy and endearingly confused.

Cue Stiles’ imminent freak out that includes shoving the man in his hall closet because “Oh my god, I manifested a burly mountain man out of thin air!!”

When really, the spell had just transported Derek from whatever secluded cabin he’d been holed up in for the last few years right into Stiles’ life.”

Sometimes It Just Works

“No, no, no, no, no!”

Stiles paces his hall, rubbing at his scalp, trying to think of a quick reversal.

It’s because I was thinking about that sex slave spell, Stiles chides himself, I didn’t want to summon a sex slave. I mean, I did, but I didn’t mean to! I’m not even into beards! Unless… I am and I don’t know yet…

Stiles’ interest is piqued when his brain supplies something like, ‘what if your magically conjured sex slave is aware of hidden kinks you don’t know you have?’

He twists around to face the closed closet door, conspiracy glistening in his eyes.

Then he smacks his left cheek and chants to himself, “no, no. That is a bad Stiles.”

“Stiles?”

He jumps away from the closet door, fumbling for the steel bat he keeps by the foyer.

“Go back to where you came from, Burly Sex Man!”

The closet door knob turns and it opens very slowly. The man’s nose peaks out, nostrils flaring like he’s scenting the air, then the door opens more widely for him to step out.

He’s not wearing shoes, the bottoms of his jeans are dirty and tattered, his cotton t-shirt is threadbare and low-cut. His arms are huge, his hair dark and eyebrows thick. Very thick.

Stiles’ heart skips.

He knows those expressive eyebrows.

And he knows the technicolored irises below them.

“Derek?”

In another life

Stiles followed Scott up the stairs and to Derek’s loft where the alpha was waiting outside the door.

“Derek, where is she?” Scott asked as they approached.

“I don’t like this,” Derek growled not answering Scott’s question.

“She said she’ll only talk to Stiles,” Scott huffed.

“I don’t trust her,” Derek growled again, his arms crossed over his chest.

“She’s a witch, Stiles is a druid, they’re kindred spirits,” Scott argued gently.

“Derek it’s fine, you’re all going to be there, she can’t do anything,” Derek had grown over protective of the pack especially the humans.

Derek sighed moving aside so that they could enter the loft.

When Stiles stepped inside, he wasn’t sure what he’d been expecting but it definitely wasn’t what he saw. Sat on Derek’s couch was a raven-haired woman, her long hair draped over her narrow shoulders. She wore an emerald green dress that matched her eyes.

“Stiles,” She spoke in a soft English accent as she stood.

“Umm, hi,” Stiles frowned. He didn’t recognize the woman but she acted as if they were old friends.

She pulled him into a hug which he awkwardly returned out of politeness.

“It’s so to see you,” She gushed, pulling back.

“I’m sorry, have we met?” Stiles wasn’t normally one to forget a face.

“Oh, I’m sorry, you wouldn’t remember. I’m Morgana,” She smiled almost sadly.

“So we have met,” Stiles racked his brain trying to recall when he would have met this girl.

“It was a long time ago,” She waved a dismissive hand.

“Okay, so what are you doing here?” Stiles asked glancing over around at the pack. Lydia was on the couch with Cora. Scott was standing with Allison and Isaac and Derek stood by the door his arms still crossed over his chest.

“I hate to ask this of you, but I need your help. I need to find someone, someone powerful. His name is Emrys. I wouldn’t ask this of you, but I don’t have anyone else to go to. I’m being hunted by another witch. Only Emrys can help me defeat her, but I need to find him,” Morgana spoke urgently.

“I don’t know an Emrys,” Stiles shook his head.

“Your magic can help me, if we join together, you can help me find him, I just need a druid’s help. They’re hard to find. I’m only asking because once upon a time I saved your life, I thought I might ask the favor in return,” She looked hopeful and nervous.

“Okay, no, you’re not gonna come in here and start claiming to have saved his life, hoping he’ll feel obligated to help you,” Derek snapped stepping towards the witch.

“That’s not what this is,” Morgana shook her head.

“When did you save my life?” Stiles frowned, ignoring Derek.

“It’s was in another life,” The sad smile returned.

Stiles’ eyebrows shot up in disbelief.

“I know it sounds crazy, but-“

“Yeah, I think someone needs to lay off the cocoa puffs,” Stiles quipped taking a step back.

“I swear it, I’m a high priestess, you were the close to the age you are now when I saved you. You were to be hanged for being a druid, but I snuck you out of the castle, Emrys and I, together. We brought you back to your pack, much like this one,” Morgana explained quickly.

“That’s enough,” Derek growled.

“You have a birthmark, it looks like a tattoo of a druid symbol on your left hip,” Morgana spoke again.

“I said enough,” Derek’s eyes flared bright red.

“Wait,” Stiles stepped up, stopping Derek.

Morgana smiled, “I see he still trusts you,” Morgana said glancing at Derek.

“Derek doesn’t trust anyone,” Stiles snorted.

“Wait, aren’t you two together?” Morgana asked with a confused frown.

This time Derek’s brows shot up.

“You’re kidding right?” Stiles laughed.

“You two were great together before,” Morgana spoke as if remembering.

“He didn’t trust me then either, but you assured him I meant you no harm. He trusted you. He was always very protective of you then as well, especially with that particular wolf, oh what was his name? Paul? Pete? Peter.” She grinned remembering the older wolf, “He used to flirt with you all the time, drove Derek crazy. That was before you were together though. The next time I saw you, you were very much in love,” Morgana smiled at the pair.

Derek looked like he was ready to rip her throat out, while Stiles looked pale.

“Sorry, I don’t mean to reminisce. I just loved you two together,” Morgana waved her hand, “Anyway, I’m being hunted by a high priestess like myself, and I could think of no one I trust more,” She smiled at Stiles as if she were looking at her little brother.

“I’ll help you,” Stiles nodded then.

“Stiles, are you sure that’s a good idea?” Scott piped in then.

“She knew about Peter and my birthmark, I think she’s telling the truth,” Stiles said nodding at his best friend.

At that moment all eyes landed on Derek.

“Fine, but I’m-“Derek was cut off by the witch.

“Not leaving his side, I know. That was always your rule back then as well,” Morgana grinned.

Stiles tried not to dwell on the fact that in another life Derek actually returned the feelings he felt for the alpha. He wondered if he’d get so lucky in this lifetime, though he doubted it.
