8tracks alternative

garefield:

hey, so mourning the slow death of 8tracks, a lot of people are looking for alternatives. i know suan.fm has been suggested a lot but it doesn’t have any built-in community interaction as of yet,, BUT!!!

playmoss.com  is RLY GREAT and it has all the basic fuckin features that 8tracks always should have had like:
– see the entire tracklist
– start the playlist from any point
– unlimited skips and listening
– see how many playlists contain a certain song
– see top listeners of a playlist
collaborative playlists!!
etc etc !!!  plus while it does have a “subscription”” it Only allows you to upload music files directly instead of linking from youtube and soundcloud. doesn’t add more than that or punish you for not paying

this sounds like an advertisement but i just want a community to start building there so we can rise above 8tracks’ tyrannical management :^)
p.s.  yes it does have a mobile app!!

go here

http://www.myscriptfont.com/

instead of printing it off just use this blank thing that way you dont have to scan it or anything

so fill that out by pasting it in any art program and whatnot

then save it and upload it to that site

and itll give you an option to download it

so do that and then install it BAM

for some reason it refused to recognize the third page of my letters but they were all pretty unnecessary mathematic things anyway so I’m not too worried. still something to keep in mind though, I hope it doesn’t happen for you!

paintfont.com would be a good place to go to quickly make a custom font for your comic!

ehh

It looks just as horrible in real life..even worse with the letter attached…

I’ll try this later.

you can also use alternative alphabets

how have i never heard of archive.org until today.. it’s an internet library that functions just like a real one, as in you borrow the books for 2 weeks and then they are returned to the archive. you can dl pdfs as well, but you’ll lose access after the 2 week period. it’s all free tho, literally just like a real library. i was searching for a cheap copy of this serial murder book from the 90s for my thesis and i found it for free on here. there’s like.. no gimmick at all? i’m so amazed. i literally just signed up and now i’m reading a super hq scan of this book for free. i love libraries.

I wanted to mention a couple other free resources that could come in handy, especially because archive.org mostly offers unliscensed resources

Hoopla and OverDrive are free on-line services that offer licensed material like newer books and professionally recorded audiobooks. You access them with your library card, your county’s library system needs to participate in the services but many do. Hoopla has ebooks and audiobooks that you get for 3 weeks, and music, movies, and tv shows for 1 week. OverDrive has ebooks and audiobooks you get for 2 weeks

12 Dozen Places To Educate Yourself Online At No Cost

surrealismart:

“All education is self-education.  Period.

It doesn’t matter if you’re sitting in a college classroom or a coffee shop. We don’t learn anything we don’t want to learn.

Those people who take the time and initiative to pursue knowledge on their own are the only ones who earn a real education in this world.  Take a look at any widely acclaimed scholar, entrepreneur or historical figure you can think of.

Formal education or not, you’ll find that he or she is a product of continuous self-education.

If you’re interested in learning something new, this article is for you.  Broken down by subject and/or category, here are several top-notch self-education resources I have bookmarked online over the past few years.

Note that some of the sources overlap between various subjects of education.  Therefore, each has been placed under a specific subject based on the majority focus of the source’s content.
