Yeah, girl.  You go for the rest of that single malt.  You toast your old friend.  We’ll have a drink with you.

This isn’t doing much to disprove my theory that Kat Is Not Okay.

Honestly, I would be more concerned for her if she were okay.

I was talking to Pixie about Kat’s breaking point before and I said this “It makes her human. if she wouldn’t have, that would have felt so out of place. Like Gabriel didn’t matter. Like no amount of deaths can faze her, and that doesn’t fit with the rest of her characterization.“ Katrina, as far as she knows, has lost a lover, and her entire civilization is on the brink of collapse, her entire race almost eradicated. She has lost probably millions of souls, many of them close friends, and she has been in command and so far unable to stop all of this from happening. She pulls herself together. In the chair, as she sits, she takes deep breaths to calm herself down, and you can see the exact moment she manages to push her emotions to the side and get back to fighting. But I don’t think she is okay – and I think that makes her all the more relatable, more human.

I hope we will see more of her both in the next episode and the coming season, and see her dealing with the emotional aftermath of all this.

(And then I hope they find that Prime Lorca survived, because he wasn’t alone. Enter Mirror Katrina, and Prime Kat and Gabriel are reunited.)

Good thoughts herein

was one of the most badass things in the show – @ussdiscoparty

The best thing about this was that she’s a doctor. She has done this before. This wasn’t a tough military guy telling Ash to suck it up and will his way through it. (The implication with being the victim of mental illness is about force of will and weakness/strength)

This was a doctor using her skills and experience to help a soldier in a crisis.

While simultaneously shooting some Klingons.

My badass Admiral

Love her so much.
